Search engines like sites that have changing content and sites that are adding content. This is one of the reasons that blogging is recommended so highly by SEO specialists. With many companies in niche industries, bi-weekly blogging or tweeting is probably not necessary to beat your competition.
So what are some ideas to keep content changing and refreshed at least on a monthly basis if not weekly? Try a few of these:
- Create a Case Study Page. If you are a manufacturing company or an engineering company you are solving problems. A case study page is an opportunity to toot your horn on something you have done that helped a customer out. It doesn’t have to be a 1000 word white paper; sometimes a 150 word post to talk about a problem that you solved will allow you to add content to your site with information that your visitors will find interesting.
- News Page. Not just news about your company, but industry related news, this gives you a chance to change /add content on a regular basis. Try using Google Alerts to get some good news ideas.
- Gallery of Products: I will often see custom manufacturers putting images of the product that they make on a photo type gallery. My advice, take this one step further and add about 20-50 words of explanation under each picture. If you add a new photo/content on a regular basis, the search engines will reward you with frequent visits and better rankings.
- Trouble Shooting Page: Present common problems you find in the industry with suggested solutions. You can add to this list as you come across more problems.
- Projects Page: Similar to case study, projects may be more accepted in engineering companies.
Hopefully you get the idea, think of ways that you can add new content to your site. Pick the right theme and you may find it fun and easy.
